Braveheart Investment Group PLC - Barnsely, England-based strategic investor - Reports that investee Paraytec Ltd made progress in developing a Covid-19 test. Paraytec has generated a sub-micron-sized polystyrene microsphere to which viral Spike proteins can attach, creating a viral mimic of the same size as the coronavirus that caused Covid-19. This comes after it had announced in July the successful production of the viral Spike protein. Additionally, Paraytec created a capture system in which a specialised surface is coated with a macro molecule that binds the virus very tightly. Lastly, Paraytec has begun the construction of a signal generation module which associates a synthetic Covid-19 virus binding protein with trapped virus particles within five minutes. Over the next month, it is expected that the construction of the signal generation module will be completed, which will lead the way to establishing proof-of-concept by early October, the company said.
