BlueRock Diamonds PLC - South African-focused diamond miner - Production in 2020 jumps 9.5% to 15,371 carats from 14,033. Processed tonnes in 2020 rises 25% to 402,000 tonnes despite Kareevlei diamond mine in South Africa being closed for 50 days due to Covid-19. Carats sold rises 29% to 16,290 but value per carat down 29% to USD295. "Value per carat of USD295 per carat was around the bottom end of the company's guidance for 2020 and 26% down on FY 2019, due largely to the impact of Covid-19 on the marketing chain and the reduced incidence of higher value diamonds in 2020 compared with 2019," BlueRock says. Output guidance for 2021 is for between 34,000 and 46,000 carats, at least doubling annual production.
