Blackrock Latin American Investment Trust PLC - Latin America-focused investor - Narrows pretax loss to USD27.3 million in 2021 from USD45.4 million the previous year. Loss on investments also narrows, dropping to USD37.0 million from USD48.6 million in 2020. Net assets at December 31 fall 17% to USD194.8 million from USD234.2 million a year before. Per share, NAV drops 23% to 461.19 cents from 552.93 cents. Blackrock Latin American increases its dividend payout for the year by 20% to 27.56 cents from 23.06 cents. Looking forward, the company says higher commodity prices, solid earnings momentum, historically cheap currencies and equity markets - especially in Brazil, it notes - create the potential for attractive returns for the region as a whole.
