IN BRIEF: Big Yellow opens first of nine new self-storage centres

Big Yellow Group PLC - Surrey, England-based self-storage - Opens new 70,000 square foot store in Staines, west London and plans three more before the end of financial 2026 on March 31. These will be in Queensbury and Wembley in London and in Slough, west of London. Big Yellow plans to open a further four stores in financial 2027 and another one - in West Kensington, London - in 2028.

"These [nine] sites, along with the other five in our pipeline, will add a proforma net operating income of approximately GBP37 million, a return of 8.8% on the total development cost of GBP422 million, including land already acquired, of which GBP214 million has been spent to date," says Chief Executive Officer Jim Gibson.

Current stock price: 952.00 pence, up 2.2% in London on Tuesday
