14th May 2021 15:13

Berkeley Energia Ltd - clean energy company focused on bringing its wholly owned Salamanca project in Spain into production - Notes meeting of full Parliament in Spain approving an amendment to the draft climate change and energy transition bill relating to the investigation and exploitation of radioactive minerals.

Under the amendment, new applications for exploration, investigation or direct exploitation concessions for radioactive materials, nor their extensions, would not be accepted as of the entry into force of this law, however existing concessions and open proceedings related to them will continue as normal.

The review process associated with proposed amendments to the draft climate change bill has been completed, as the new law enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Spanish State Gazette.
