IN BRIEF: AVI Japan Plans To Raise GBP35 Million Through Share Placing

AVI Japan Opportunity Trust PLC - Japan-focused investor based in Exeter, England - Announces it is seeking to raise up to GBP35 million in shares under its existing placing programme to fund investments in line with its investment policy. Says the issue price will be at a premium of 2% of the unaudited net asset value per share at close of business on the day of the placing, which is expected to be February 12. Notes it expects the premium to be sufficient to cover the anticipated costs and expenses associated with the placing.

Says the placing will be through its broker N+1 Singer Advisory LLP, who will act as the placing agent.

Current stock price: 111.02 pence
