IN BRIEF: Argo Blockchain mines fewer bitcoin amid network difficulty

Argo Blockchain PLC - London-based cryptocurrency miner - Mines less bitcoin and bitcoin equivalent in September as network difficulties persist, mining 165 in September compared to 206 in August. Total amount mined so far this year is 1,479.

Based on forex and cryptocurrency rates that prevailed during the month, mining revenue totals GBP5.5 million in September, down from GBP6.8 million in August. Income generated at margin of 84% in September and 86% in August.

Argo owns 1,836 bitcoin or bitcoin equivalents at the end of September.

Last Thursday, agreed to acquire 20,000 Bitmain Antminer S19J pro machines for an undisclosed sum. The expansion was expected to bring Argo's total mining capacity to 3.7 exahash by the end of the third quarter of 2022.

Current stock price: 118.89 pence, down 1.3% on Thursday

Year-to-date change: up from 33.0p on December 31
