IN BRIEF: Altus Strategies Begins Trenching At Laboum Gold Project

13th Oct 2020 22:04

Altus Strategies PLC - Didcot, Oxfordshire-based mineral project royalty generator - Says 5,000 metres of trenching underway at its Laboum gold project in Cameroon. Rock chip sampling of a quartz vein discovery at Laboum has returned a best grade of 36.20 grams of gold per tonne of ore. A 17-kilometre long shear zone has been found at Laboum within the Birimian-age metavolcanic and metasedimentary formations and four gold prospects have been defined through exploration surveys and artisanal gold workings. Altus will use its trenching results to guide the Laboum maiden drilling programme.

Chief Executive Steven Poulton: "This 5,000 metre trenching programme will test the hard rock potential of several key prospects at Laboum, ahead of a maiden drilling programme planned for 2021. We look forward to updating shareholders on this current phase of work."
