IN BRIEF: Altona Rare gets approval for majority stake in Monte Muambe

Altona Rare Earths PLC - Mining exploration company focused on the evaluation, acquisition and development of projects in Africa - Receives formal regulatory approval from Mozambique's minister of Mineral Resources & Energy for the increase of its holding in Monte Muambe Mining Ltd to 51% from 20%. Monte Muambe is the Mozambican subsidiary holding the prospecting licence encompassing the Monte Muambe project. Chief Executive Officer Cedric Simonet says: "The speed with which approval was granted by the ministry shows the level of support our Monte Muambe project has." The project is located in the Tete province of northwestern Mozambique and has a surface area of 39.4 square kilometres.

Current stock price: 2.15 pence, up 7.5% on Monday

12-month change: down 64%
