IN BRIEF: Alkemy completes study for lithium hydroxide facility

Alkemy Capital Investments PLC - London-based company focused on acquisitions in the mining and technology metals sectors - Completes the feasibility study for its lithium hydroxide processing facility at the Teesside Freeport in the North East of England. The facility will process imported feedstock to produce 96,000 tonnes of low-carbon lithium hydroxide annually. It is located at the Wilton International Chemical Park. Alkemy says it is the first project of its kind in the UK and the largest in Europe. Has an estimated pre-tax net present value of GBP2.8 billion, Alkemy explains, based on long-term lithium hydroxide price of USD25,000 per tonnes.

Chief Executive Sam Quinn says: "This Feasibility Study is a major milestone for Alkemy and its 100% owned subsidiary Tees Valley Lithium... At full production, Tees Valley Lithium will produce 96,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium hydroxide per annum and will be a major supplier to the UK and European electric vehicle industry."
