Alba Mineral Resources PLC - London-based mineral exploration company - Says Natural Resources Wales has refused the company's application requesting the grant of an environmental permit for water discharge activity to allow treated mine water from the Llechfraith Shaft in North Wales to be discharged to the Afon Cwm-llechen. The decision to refuse the permit application is stated to be based on Natural Resources Wales' assessment of the potential environmental impact on European protected species. The company says it will be considering the reasons given by Natural Resources Wales in greater detail in the coming days and considering grounds to appeal the decision.
