LONDON (Alliance News) - Imperial Innovations Group PLC, a technology commercialisation and investment company, on Wednesday named David Newlands as its new non-executive chairman.
Newlands, previously chairman of PayPoint PLC, Tomkins PLC, Britax International, Kesa Electricals PLC and HellermanTyton PLC, will replace Martin Knight on August 1, coinciding with the start of Innovations' new financial year.
"We are delighted that David has agreed to take on the chairmanship. His extensive business background will be invaluable and is highly relevant to Innovations and its maturing portfolio companies. I am very pleased that the group has attracted someone of his experience and calibre," Knight said.
"Newlands said: Innovations is one of the leaders of the fast emerging technology commercialisation sector in the UK and I am honoured to have been offered the role of chairman. I am excited by the prospect of steering this already impressive company through its next phase of development."
Newlands holds no shares in Innovations. The stock was down 1.8% at 412.55 pence Wednesday.
