LONDON (Alliance News) - Technology commercialisation and investment company Imperial Innovations Group PLC on Thursday said it has led a GBP1.5 million seed funding round for artificial intelligence company Telectic.
Imperial will invest GBP1.3 million in the company as part of the funding round and now holds an 18% stake in the business.
Telectic is developing artificial intelligence to interpret the content of the world wide web, Imperial said. The company's initial aim is to map and discover insights by reorganising information online about people, networks and organisations.
"The UK is emerging as a centre for AI innovation. Telectic brings big data analytics and advances in AI into a compelling new capability and we believe this marks the start of AI accelerating human insights and knowledge," said Jon Edington, Imperial's technology ventures director.
Shares in Imperial were down 6.6% to 478.8219 pence on Thursday morning.
