Imperial Innovations' Cell Medica Begins Manufacturing In Berlin

19th Feb 2015 09:08

LONDON (Alliance News) - Imperial Innovations Group PLC Thursday said its portfolio company Cell Medica has begun commercial cell therapy manufacturing at its facility in Berlin-Buch, Germany.

The first product has been successfully manufactured and delivered for use in the patient, it said.

The technology commercialisation and investment group said manufacturing at the site will initially be focused on Cytovir CMV, which is used for the treatment of cytomegalovirus infections in patients after a bone marrow transplant.

"Cell Medica will now be able to leverage this manufacturing capability across a broad range of T-cell immunotherapy products, including both infectious disease and its exciting oncology programme," said Maina Bhaman, director of Healthcare Investments at Imperial Innovations.

Imperial Innovations shares were trading 2.1% higher Thursday morning at 454.52 pence.
