IMImobile Signs Mobile Billing Partnership With Airtel In Africa

LONDON (Alliance News) - IMImobile PLC on Wednesday said it has signed a partnership with Indian telecommunications group Bharti Airtel's African arm to provide its Tap2Bill mobile billing product for merchants and content providers in the region.

IMImobile, the mobile technology firm, said the system will allow content providers and merchants to bill their customers using Airtel's billing infrastructure.

No financial details were disclosed.

"We are delighted to partner with Airtel Africa to help bring this offering to the market, which not only creates a much improved user experience for subscribers, but will also encourage and support the growth and variety of mobile content across Africa," said IMImobile Chief Executive Jay Patel.

Shares in IMImobile were untraded on Wednesday, having last traded at 149.90 pence.
