LONDON (Alliance News) - Ilika PLC said Tuesday that it entered a demonstration project to deploy its Stereax M250 batteries to power an autonomous wireless sensor for environmental sensing and asset tracking.
The company will receive EUR260,000 to cover all costs of the project from Horizon 2020, which is the European Commission's research and innovation programme.
The project's objective is to use a combination of Stereax batteries and photovoltaic cells to power a smart sensing card covering imaging, CO2 sensing and temperature measurement, Ilika explained.
"The device will be designed for deployment in smart cities for air quality management, smart homes for indoor air quality and comfort, smart work places for indoor comfort, occupancy and productivity and industrial environments," the firm added.
Ilika shares were trading up 4.1% at 16.40 pence each.
