LONDON (Alliance News) - Ilika PLC on Thursday said it is taking part in a two-year project between Seagate and the University of Southampton, which has been awarded a GBP374,000 grant by Innovate UK, with GBP194,000 of the grant to fund project activities at the accelerated materials innovation company.
"The UK has world class capability in the area of hard drive technology, nanophotonics and material discovery and optimisation. This project provides an opportunity to develop these materials for improved product performance and competitiveness for the manufacturing business of end user Seagate," Chief Executive Graeme Purdy said.
Shares in Ilika were up 1.7% at 59.98 pence on Thursday morning.
