LONDON (Alliance News) - Solid state battery technology company Ilika PLC on Thursday said the European Patent Office has upheld its opposition to a fuel cell catalyst patent filed by Brookhaven Science Associates.
Ilika had objected to the award amid concerns that the patent Brookhaven had applied for may impact some of the company's freedoms granted under its own European patent.
"Ilika invests significantly in creating valuable intellectual property to underpin the growth of its business. Potentially competitive filings are monitored very closely and are challenged where appropriate," said Chief Executive Graeme Purdy.
Shares in Ilika were untraded Thursday morning, having last traded at 74.35 pence.
