LONDON (Alliance News) - Ilika PLC Friday said it has appointed Mike Inglis, who used to be ARM Holdings PLC's chief commercial officer, as a non-executive director, naming him the future successor to Chairman Jack Boyer.
Ilika, which develops solid state battery technology, said Inglis will take over pending his "successful election" at its annual meeting of shareholders scheduled for September.
Inglis, 55, is a non-executive director of Pace PLC and an independent director of Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
Boyer, Ilika's chairman since 2004 and a non-executive director at outsourcing and energy services company Mitie Group PLC and technology business Laird PLC, was made an Officer of the British Empire in the Queen's Birthday Honours List in June for services to science and engineering.
"We are delighted that Mike has agreed to join Ilika's board at a time when his commercial experience is particularly relevant to Ilika's growth plans. We look forward to working closely with him to apply his extensive and valuable knowledge of licensing models in the semiconductor device and Internet of Things industry sectors," Chief Executive Graeme Purdy said in a statement.
The news came as Ilika said its pretax loss narrowed to GBP3.04 million in the year ended April 30, from GBP3.09 million in the prior year, as revenue increased to GBP1.1 million from GBP1.0 million and administrative expenses increased to GBP3.59 million from GBP3.57 million.
Boyer said the company made "substantial progress" in its last financial year, as it scaled up its solid-state battery technology.
