ICAP Sees US Treasury And EBS Volumes Jump From December

LONDON (Alliance News) - ICAP PLC on Thursday said it saw a jump in volumes on its EBS currency platform and in terms of US Treasuries in January when compared to the previous month, though the figures were less flattering year on year.

Electronic markets average daily volumes at its EBS currency trading platform amounted to USD103.8 billion in January on a single count basis, down 20% year on year but up 39% on December 2015. US Treasury volumes of USD202.9 billion were up 10% year on year and up 42% on December.

US Repo volumes amounted to USD203.1 billion in January, down 8.0% year on year and down 9.0% on December 2015.

European Repo volumes amounted to EUR170.5 billion, flat year on year and up 1% on December.

ICAP is scheduled to publish a third-quarter trading update for the three months ended December 31 on Tuesday next week.

Shares in ICAP were down 1.7% at 463.40 pence on Thursday late morning.
