ICAP Sees EBS Platform Volumes Drop Sharply In November

LONDON (Alliance News) - ICAP PLC on Thursday said electronic markets average daily volumes at its EBS currency trading platform fell sharply in November, down 39% year on year and 10% against the prior month.

EBS volumes amounted to USD75.5 billion in November on a single count basis.

The only other area of decline year on year was in European Repo volumes, which were down 3.0% to EUR168.4 billion, although up 1.0% versus the prior month.

US Treasury volumes were up 6.0% year on year to USD146.1 billion, though down 4.0% on the prior month. Meanwhile, US Repo volumes were up 7.0% year on year to USD230.6 billion, which also was up 13% on the prior month.

Shares in ICAP were up 0.1% at 510.50 pence on Thursday.
