ICAP Sees 15% Drop In April Volumes At EBS Currency Platform

LONDON (Alliance News) - ICAP PLC on Thursday said average daily volumes on its EBS currency trading platform dropped by 15% year on year in April.

In a statement, ICAP said average daily volumes on EBS amounted to USD82.3 billion on a single count basis in April. That was down 2% on figures published for March.

Elsewhere, US Repo volumes amounted to USD205.7 billion in April, down 3% year on year and 4% on March. European Repo volumes were EUR175.6 billion in April, down 4% on the year and 5% on March. US Treasury volumes were USD144.5 billion in April, unchanged on the year and down 7% on the month.

Shares in ICAP were down 1.5% at 461.90 pence on Thursday.
