LONDON (Alliance News) - Interdealer broker ICAP PLC on Wednesday said volumes for its US Treasury, European Repo and EBS businesses all declined year-on-year in September, with the only rise in the month registered by its US Repo unit.
ICAP said US Treasury volumes in December were down 2.0% year-on-year to USD154.10 billion, while European Repo volumes were down 1.0% to EUR178.40 billion.
Volumes on ICAP's EBS currency trading platform were down 9.0% to USD81.70 billion, though this was a big improvement on the 32% decline ICAP reported for EBS volumes in August.
US Repo was the only unit to report higher volumes in September, up 9.0% year-on-year to USD229.10 billion.
ICAP shares were down 0.9% at 474.80 pence on Wednesday.
