Ibstock Appoints Tate & Lyle Executive As Chief Financial Officer

6th Feb 2019 08:32

LONDON (Alliance News) - Clay bricks manufacturer Ibstock PLC said on Wednesday it has appointed Chris McLeish as chief financial officer, with effect in Early August.

McLeish will replace Kevin Sims, who is retiring after three years in the role and 30 years at the FTSE 250-listed firm.

McLeish is currently at food ingredients maker Tate & Lyle PLC, where he has worked for 16 years since 2003, most recently as vice president for Finance & Control for six years since 2013.

Sims will work with McLeish to ensure an orderly succession and handover at Ibstock.

"Kevin has played a vitally important role in Ibstock's success and on behalf of the board I thank him for his efforts and significant achievements. I am absolutely delighted that we have managed to secure the appointment of someone of Chris' calibre and experience," said Chair Jonathan Nicholls.

"After conducting a comprehensive search we feel that Chris' broad experience and track record make him the best candidate for the role. We look forward to him joining the board," Nicholls added.

Ibstock shares were up 1.1% at 243.40 pence early Wednesday.
