IAG Traffic And Load Factor Up In February As It Plans Stansted Routes

LONDON (Alliance News) - International Consolidated Airlines Group on Thursday reported a rise in group traffic and load factor in February.

The airline operator - which owns British Airways, Aer Lingus, and Spanish carriers Iberia and Vueling - said group traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres, grew 16% year-on-year to 15.9 million from 13.7 million, while load factor increased by 1.2 percentage points to 77.4% from 76.2%.

IAG also announced that British Airways will start flying from London Stansted this summer, with flights to Faro in Portugal and to Malaga, Palma and Ibiza in Spain from May 28.

Shares in IAG were trading down 2.0% at 534.50 pence on Thursday afternoon.
