(Alliance News) - i3 Energy PLC said Thursday the Borgland Dolphin drilling rig has now spud a pilot well at the Liberator oil and gas field in the North Sea ahead of a more than three-month-long drilling programme.
The semi-submersible rig has spud the LPt-02 pilot well. Results from drilling will be unveiled when the well has reached total depth and the data looked at.
Last Wednesday, i3 said it expects further drilling to take place after the initial 94-day drilling programme and for the first delivery of oil from Liberator at around 20,000 barrel of oil per day from 2020.
"We are excited to now be on location and drilling the first of three high impact wells into our 100% owned Liberator and Serenity structures and look forward to updating the market as each well objective is achieved", Chief Executive Majid Shafiq said.
Shares in i3 were 0.1% lower at 53.56 pence in London on Thursday.
