Hurricane Energy Starts Offshore Installation Phase On Lancaster Field

16th May 2018 09:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil and gas exploration firm Hurricane Energy PLC said Wednesday that it has started the offshore installation phase at the Early Production System on the Lancaster field, offshore UK.

The first operation carried out was the installation of enhanced horizontal Christmas trees, an assembly of valves, spools, and fittings, on the two existing wells.

In addition, logistical work is taking place at the field ahead of installing the turret mooring system for the floating production storage and offloading unit, the company said.

"I'm delighted to see the start of the installation phase of the project with activity beginning to take place offshore. All workstreams are proceeding well; we remain on budget and on schedule for first oil in first half of 2019," said Chief Executive Robert Trice.

Shares in Hurricane Energy were down 0.4% at 46.72 pence on Wednesday.
