(Alliance News) - Hurricane Energy PLC on Friday said it has spudded the second of three wells on the Greater Warwick Area in the UK North Sea.
Well 205/26b-B well, or Lincoln Crestal, was spudded using the Transocean Leader rig. An update will come once drilling and testing has been completed.
Hurricane, which owns 50% of the Greater Warwick Area alongside Centrica PLC's Spirit Energy, in early July reported a disappointing result from the first of the three wells, Warwick Deep.
Initial analysis suggested Warwick Deep found a "poorly" connected part of the fracture network within the oil column, and the well produced at non-commercial rates.
On Thursday, the firm increased production guidance for 2020, as operations at the early production system on the Lancaster field go well.
Shares were 3.2% higher on Friday at a price of 55.32 pence each, having started the week at 43.60p.
