LONDON (Alliance News) - UK-based oil and gas firm Hurricane Energy PLC on Wednesday said the 205/21a-7 well at the Lancaster field, West of Shetland, has been spudded.
The well is located on licence P1368 Central, which Hurricane owns.
The pilot well is the first of a two-well programme the company will run to refine the resource range of the Lancaster area in order to optimise the development plan for the project.
"This is an extremely exciting moment in Hurricane's development as we embark on a drilling programme that will not only complete the remaining well stock required for an Early Production System, but will also help refine our Contingent Resource range for Lancaster," said Chief Executive Robert Trice.
Hurricane shares were up 2.2% at 23.50 pence Wednesday.
