Hurricane Energy Reaches Critical Milestone At Lancaster Oil Field

2nd Aug 2018 10:57

LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil and gas firm Hurricane Energy PLC said Thursday it had reached a "critical milestone" at its developmental Lancaster Field in Lancashire.

The firm has constructed its turret mooring system at the Lancaster field as part of its early production system development of the site. The turret mooring system also includes the newly-constructed buoy for the Aoka Mizu FPSO.

The installation was described as a "critical milestone" which is required in order to install the subsea umbilical, risers, and flowlines at the field. The SURF is the last phase of the offshore installation programme prior to the arrival of the Aoka Mizu FPSO. In the meantime, the buoy will moored at the Lancaster site.

"We are delighted to have completed this weather sensitive turret mooring system installation," Hurricane Chief Executive Officer Robert Trice said. "The SURF installation campaign is due to commence shortly, with the mobilisation of subsea equipment expected to begin in the coming weeks. We look forward to providing further updates in the run-up to first oil, which remains on track for the first half of 2019."

Shares in Hurricane were 0.8% lower at 49.68 pence on Thursday.
