LONDON (Alliance News) - PR company Huntsworth PLC Monday said Paul Myners, the former financial services secretary in Gordon Brown's government, will become its chairman at its next annual general meeting.
In a statement, the company said Lord Myners will become an independent non-executive director from April 29, while current Chairman Richard Sharp and senior independent non-executive Director Joe MacHale will step down at its next AGM.
The company hasn't yet said when it will hold its 2014 AGM.
Huntsworth will put out its 2013 results on Tuesday, and said they are in line with management expectations.
As well as serving as a Labour minister, Myners was chief executive and chairman of fund manager Gartmore Group and was also chairman of Guardian Media Group. Most recently he joined the board of troubled Co-Operative Group, but quit earlier this month after his proposals for a corporate revamp met with resistance.
