In the first 14 days of March, the plant operated at an average of 95% of design throughput with consistent gold recovery rates of around 96%, above design specification.
Total gold recovered in the period was 16,804 ounces, of which 11,958 have been poured and 4,846 in the circuit inventory.
Hummingbird completed construction of the plant and ore commissioning in 2017, with first gold poured a week before Christmas. The company is now steadily increasing the grade of ore being fed into the plant, which is now running at close to name-plate capacity.
Chief Executive Dan Betts said: "We are delighted that the plant has performed so well and that the work carried out by our highly experienced team and contractors has so far been rewarded in ramp-up operations with 96% recoveries, over 3 g/t head grade and a steady increase in plant throughput towards design. This is an impressive achievement in such a short space of time."
