Hummingbird Resources Says Civil Works Start On Yanfolila Project

11th Oct 2016 08:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - West Africa-focused gold miner Hummingbird Resources PLC on Tuesday said civil construction work has now started at the Yanfolila gold project in Mali.

Hummingbird said surveying, setting out, and trenching have all started on site, ahead of concrete pouring later in October.

The project remains on schedule and on budget for its first gold pour by the end of 2017.

"We are now laying the ground work for our first gold mine in Mali with civil works having started. This is an important milestone for Hummingbird Resources as full scale mine construction has now commenced, and we are on schedule for our first gold pour by the end of 2017 targeting 132,000 ounces in the first year," said Dan Betts, Hummingbird's chief executive.

Shares in Hummingbird were up 2.6% at 25.40 pence early Tuesday.
