HSBC Holdings Promotes Simoes To Private Banking Chief Executive

18th Sep 2018 07:12

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed bank HSBC Holdings PLC said on Monday it has promoted Antonio Simoes to be chief executive of the Global Private Banking division with effect from January 1, subject to regulatory approval.

He will replace Peter Boyles, who is retiring from the company after six years in the role since 2012.

Simoes is currently chief executive of HSBC Bank PLC and Europe, and has been for three years since 2015. He will be replaced in this role by group general manager James Emmett with immediate effect.

"We are grateful to Peter for his 43 years of dedicated service. He has been instrumental in transforming Global Private Banking into a modern and future-focused business. In Antonio we have an individual who has consistently demonstrated strategic thinking and the ability to strengthen client relationships. In James, we have a very experienced international banker to lead our European business," said HSBC Chief Executive James Flint.
