Homeserve Annual Revenue Rises But Profit Down On Exceptional Costs

19th May 2020 09:02

(Alliance News) - Homeserve PLC on Tuesday said it continues to see demand for its services as lockdowns are lifted, as it reported double-digit revenue growth in its most recently ended financial year.

The home emergency repairs and improvements company reported a 1.1% slip in pretax profit in the year to the end of March to GBP137.9 million from GBP139.5 million a year ago, despite revenue rising by 13% to GBP1.13 billion from GBP1.00 billion.

Adjusted pretax profit - which excludes amortisation of acquisition intangibles and exceptional items - rose by 12% to GBP181.0 million from GBP161.7 million.

Homeserve lifted its annual dividend per share by 10% to 23.6 pence from 21.4p paid the year before.

"I am really pleased with our performance in the last 12 months, in which we continued to provide excellent service to our customers, deliver on our financial objectives and invest for future growth," said Chief Executive Richard Harpin.

"We have all become acutely aware of the importance of our homes over the last few months, which means that HomeServe's purpose of making home repairs and improvements easy has never been more relevant. With our resilient business model and dedicated teams, we look forward to being able to help more and more customers as the world emerges from lockdown," added Harpin.

FTSE 250-listed Homeserve shares were trading 3.3% higher in London on Tuesday at 1,203.00p each.
