Hipgnosis Songs Fund Buys Catalogue From Lana Del Rey Album Producer

(Alliance News) - Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd on Thursday said it has purchased a music catalogue from Lana Del Rey album producer Emile Haynie.

Haynie is a US producer and produced Lana Del Rey's 2012 album "Born To Die", which was Number 1 in give countries, including the UK. It was the fifth bestselling album of 2012 worldwide and has been streamed more than 1 billion times on streaming service Spotify.

In addition, Haynie also collaborated as an executive producer on two albums by Kid Kudi, including "Man on the Moon: The End of Day" which was nominated three times for a Grammy. He also collaborated on Adele's album "25", which was number 1 in 32 countries, including the US and UK.

Other songs in the catalogue include "Runaway" by Kanye West featuring Pusha T and "Locked Out of Heaven" by Bruno Mars, plus songs performed by Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Pink, and Florence and the Machine.

Hipgnosis now owns 100% of Haynie's worldwide copyrights for its 122 song catalogue.

Merck Mercuriadis, who founded Hipgnosis, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Emile to the Hipgnosis family. He is one of the most influential producers of the last decade and with Lana Del Ray, Kid Cudi, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Fun and many others he has made important records that have inspired so many other great creators."

Shares in Hipgnosis were up 1.1% at 109.14 pence in London on Thursday morning.
