(Alliance News) - Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd on Thursday said it has acquired the music royalty catalogue of American hip hop and R&B music producer, Ernest Wilson, known as "No ID".
The FTSE 250-listed investment company said the catalogue comprises of 273 songs.
Hipgnosis said No ID has achieved "incredible commercial success", with artists including Kanye West, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Usher, Rihanna, Common, Drake and Ed Sheeran. His songs and productions have collectively been streamed more than 7 billion times.
"The words No ID are a stamp of excellence on any album," said Merck Mercuriadis, founder of Hipgnosis Songs and Family Music Ltd.
"He is a special creator and everyone in the Hipgnosis Family is proud to have him standing next to us," added Mercuriadis.
Hipgnosis shares were trading flat in London on Thursday at 122.50 pence each.
