(Alliance News) - Music catalogue investment firm Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd said Friday it has acquired the music catalogue of songwriter and producer Brian Higgins for an undisclosed sum.
Among the acquired catalogue are Cher's Grammy-winning hit "Believe" and 'Sound Of The Underground' by Girls Aloud. Higgins has also written and produced songs performed by Danii Minogue, The Saturdays, Bananarama and Alesha Dixon.
Hipgnosis has acquired 100% of Brian Higgins' worldwide copyright, ownership and financial interest, including the writer share, of his catalogue comprising of 362 songs.
Merck Mercuriadis, founder of The Family (Music) Ltd and Hipgnosis, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Brian Higgins to the Hipgnosis family. He is one of the finest writers of the last 25 years and 'Believe' in particular is an evergreen song that has gained iconic status."
The Family (Music) serves as an investment adviser to Hipgnosis.
Shares in the music catalogue investment company were 0.5% higher at 109.50 pence each on Friday morning in London.
