(Alliance News) - Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd on Tuesday announced it has acquired 100% of the music catalogue of Fleetwood Mac lead guitarist and vocalist Lindsay Buckingham for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition, which followed Hipgnosis's purchase of a 25% share back in September, includes Buckingham's music publishing rights, his publishing and writer's share of his entire catalogue comprising 161 songs, as well as a 50% share of any unreleased compositions.
Buckingham began his music career in the early 1970s, when he released his debut album with his then partner Stevie Nicks. Following this, they joined Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Christine McVie in the band Fleetwood Mac.
Merck Mercuriadis said: "Lindsey Buckingham is one of the greatest guitarists, songwriters and producers of all time yet is still so underrated. It's wonderful to welcome him and his iconic songs both as a solo artist and with Fleetwood Mac to the Hipgnosis family."
Shares in Hipgnosis were flat at 123.00 pence in London on Tuesday.
