7th Jan 2020 10:46

(Alliance News) - Music catalogue investment firm Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd said Tuesday it has acquired the music catalogue of singer-songwriter & Blink-182 co-founder Tom DeLonge for an undisclosed sum.

Blink-182 is an American rock band formed in 1992.

Amongst the acquired catalogue are DeLonge's hit single with Blink-182 "All The Small Things" and the band's 1995 debut album "Cheshire Cat".

Hipgnosis has acquired 100% of Tom DeLonge's copyrights on the catalogue which consists of 157 songs.

Merck Mercuriadis, founder of Hipgnosis, said: "The influence of Blink-182 on today's artists is massive. If you're under 27 years old and making music they are a seminal band. They had angst, they had energy, they had humor but most importantly they had incredible songs and Tom is at the core of that. It's an honour to welcome him into the Hipgnosis Family".

Shares in Hipgnosis were up 0.3% at 109.30 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
