(Alliance News) - Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd on Friday said it has acquired the music catalogue of Chrissie Hynde, the founding member, lead vocalist and primary song writer of rock band The Pretenders.
The FTSE 250-listed music catalogue investor said Hynde wrote a catalogue of hit songs which include I'll Stand By You, Middle of the Road, 2000 Miles, Don't Get Me Wrong and My Baby.
It added that Hynde wrote songs for the The Pretenders such as Brass in Pocket which was the band's first UK Number 1 in 1980 and has been streamed over 200 million times as well as Back on the Chain Gang which has been streamed over 150 million times.
Hipgnosis has acquired 100% of Chrissie's music publishing catalogue of 164 songs including publishing and writer's share from the Pretenders and her other projects.
No financial details of the deal were disclosed.

The stock was trading 0.3% higher at 122.37 pence each on Friday morning in London.
