Hilton Food Shuffles Board, Promotes Philip Heffer To Chief Executive

23rd May 2018 11:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Hilton Food Group PLC said Wednesday it reshuffled its board, including the promotion of Chief Operating Officer Philip Heffer to chief executive officer.

The food packaging business also said its trading for the year-to-date has been in line with the board's views.

Hilton Food reported good progress across Western Europe, with UK, Ireland and Denmark markets increasing turnover.

The company said its board unanimously promoted Heffer, who has been on the board since 1994, to the role of CEO with effect from July.

Executive Chairman Colin Smith is set to retire from the board in July, when Robert Watson will take on the executive chairman role. In 2020, Watson will move to non-executive chairman.

The company also appointed Angus Porter as non-executive director with effect from July. Porter is currently non-executive chairman at McColl's Retail Group PLC and co-chairman of Direct Wines Ltd.

On July 1, Hilton Food will assume full operational control of the Bunbury and Truganina plants in the planned restructuring of the meat processing Australian joint venture with retailer Woolworth Group Ltd.

Hilton Food shares were trading up 0.4% at 910.00 pence each.
