Hill & Smith Retains Annual Expectations, Looks For New Chair

16th May 2019 12:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Hill & Smith Holdings PLC said Thursday that expectations for the full year remained unchanged and that the company has started search for a new chair.

As of the end of April the performance in UK "has been positive and trading is ahead of prior year", the construction products supplier company said.

Meanwhile US infrastructure investment "continues to be robust and demand across our portfolio of products is good", Hill & Smith added.

On the contrary the company has seen a slower start to the year within some of its smaller international operations, in particular the Scandinavian and Australian Roads businesses.

Hill & Smith also said that its pipeline of acquisitions "remains encouraging".

The company has agreed with Jock Lennox, who has served two years as chair of the board, to start the search for his successor. The board expects to have a new chair in place within a year.

Hill & Smith shares were up 1.9% Thursday at 1,275.00 pence each.
