(Alliance News) - Infrastructure company Hill & Smith Holdings PLC on Monday appointed former Laird Chief Executive Tony Quinlan as both a non-executive director and the group's senior independent director, effective immediately.
Hill & Smith has also appointed Pete Raby as a non-executive director.
Quinlan is the former head of electronics and technology firm Laird, which left the London Stock Exchange in June 2018 following a takeover. He is still a non-executive director at the company.
He was also previously finance director of power company Drax Group PLC and deputy finance director at Marks & Spencer Group PLC. Quinlan qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Raby is currently the CEO of carbon and ceramic products maker Morgan Advanced Materials PLC. He was previously the president of the Communications & Connectivity division of defence contractor Cobham PLC, and prior to that was a partner at McKinsey & Company in London.
Alan Giddins, chair of Hill & Smith, said: "I am extremely pleased to be welcoming Tony and Pete to the board of Hill & Smith. Both bring with them significant and relevant experience as CEOs of international businesses. I believe that the board and management of Hill & Smith will benefit hugely from the strategic perspectives and challenge that each will be able to bring to the business."
Solihull-based Hill & Smith shares were 1.0% lower on Monday in London at 1,345.00 pence.
