(Alliance News) - Highland Gold Mining Ltd on Monday said Senior Independent Director Terry Robinson died on Friday last week "after a brief illness".
Shares in Highland Gold closed down 4.0% at 211.20 pence on Monday.
Robinson joined the miner in 2008 and served on its "audit, HSE, and remuneration & nomination committees".
"On behalf of the board and everyone at Highland Gold, I would like to offer our deepest, sincerest condolences to Terry's wife and family. Terry was a true gentleman in every sense of the word, and his experience, judgment, incomparable attention to detail and, most of all, his friendship will be sorely missed," said Executive Chair Eugene Shvidler.
Director Duncan Baxter is to serve as interim audit committee head. Highland Gold is considering appointing a new independent director.
