Highland Gold Continues Operations, Starts To Reopen Headquarters

29th Jun 2020 10:28

(Alliance News) - Highland Gold Mining Ltd said Monday its mining and processing plant operations, supply chain, and sales have continued without disruption despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, work on capital construction projects also continues as planned, including the Belaya Gora processing plant upgrade, the Novoshirokinskoye capacity expansion, and the Kekura development project, all in Russia.

Highland Gold said it has adopted a programme of measures to protect the health of its employees, including medical screening, work travel restrictions and some offices working remotely since late March.

The company said preparations for the reopening of its offices are at an advanced stage and includes several precautions to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. Meanwhile, senior management and selected staff members have started to return to the Moscow headquarters.

With the establishment of operating centres for each of Highland Gold's operating location, the company has identified three employees carrying the virus before they reached a production site.

"The company will continue to closely monitor the situation with its employees, mining operations, supply chain, and the communities where we work, and will provide updates should there be any material changes," Highland Gold stated.

Shares in Highland Gold were flat at 227.20 pence on Monday in London.
