(Alliance News) - Highland Gold Mining Ltd said Monday it has appointed Deborah Gudgeon as an independent non-executive director.
The gold miner said Gudgeon will fill the seat left vacant by the passing of Senior Independent Director Terry Robinson in August.
Gudgeon will serve as chair of the audit and risk committees and as a member of the health & safety, remuneration, and nominations Committees.
The company said Gudgeon is a chartered accountant with over 30 years' of experience. She has served as a director for Halstead Services Ltd, and was a managing director of Gazelle Corporate Finance Ltd and a senior advisor at Penfida Ltd.
Since 2015, she has been a non-executive director at Evraz PLC, where she serves as audit committee chair.
"The directors welcome Deborah to the board and are confident that her extensive international board level experience and accounting and finance background will provide valuable contributions to the company's governance," Highland Gold said.
Highland Gold shares closed 0.7% higher in London at 183.80 pence each on Monday.
