Herencia Resources Starts Drilling Picachos Project

29th Apr 2014 12:18

LONDON (Alliance News) - Herencia Resources PLC Tuesday said drilling is now underway at its Picachos Copper Project and it is planning to start drilling at its Guamanga Project this quarter.

The Chile-focused mineral exploration and development company said that it has started drilling at the Picachos site as part of a programme to drill roughly 3,000 metres targeting high-grade structural mineralisation and extensive targets already identified at the site.

The company said the drilling will also test a number of areas for shallow mineralisation identified during a detailed structural mapping exercise undertaken by its geological team.

Herencia Resources said the goal of the programme is to identify shallow zones of mineralisation that could underpin an initial open pit operation at the site.

The company also announced that drilling at its Guamanga Copper project is scheduled to start this quarter, which will target a significant iron oxide copper gold anomaly identified during a series of ground geophysical programmes.

Herencia Resources shares were up 5.5% to 0.459 pence Tuesday.
