Herencia Resources Starts Drilling At Guamanga Copper Project

26th Jun 2014 11:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Herencia Resources Thursday said it has started a diamond drill programme at its Guamanga copper project in Chile, its joint venture with Australian copper miner OZ Minerals.

The drilling programme will target a significant, large iron oxide copper gold anomaly identified during a series of ground geophysical programmes. Around 3,300 metres of drilling is to be undertaken in five holes.

The first results from the Guamanga Project are expected in the third quarter.

Herencia Managing Director Graeme Sloan said both companies have high hopes for the target, which sits within close proximity to Anglo American PLC's large Matntoverde copper mine.

Herencia Resources shares were down 1.8% at 0.481 pence Thursday morning.
