LONDON (Alliance News) - Henderson Far East Income Ltd said Wednesday it underperformed its benchmark in the year to end-August, and raised its total dividend for the year.
The trust saw a total return on net asset value of 11.2%, underperforming a 13.3% return from its benchmark, the FTSE All-World Asia Pacific ex Japan Index, sterling adjusted.
It proposed a total dividend of 18.20 pence, up from 17.00 pence a year before.
The trust said it remains "positive on the outlook for the region in the medium to long term but recognises that market direction will be dictated by macro factors in the short term."
"We will use any market volatility as an opportunity to acquire quality high yielding or high dividend growth companies at attractive prices," the company said in a statement.
Shares in the trust are trading down 0.5% at 323.25 pence near the close Wednesday.
